PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Our team successfully executed a comprehensive project encompassing demolition, civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and control (EI&C) services, along with SCADA integration. The project focused on the replacement and upgrade of critical components within an operational Iron Ore plant, ensuring uninterrupted production throughout the execution phase.

Services Provided:

  • Demolition
Safe and efficient removal of existing infrastructure and equipment.
  • Civil and Structural
Construction and reinforcement of foundations and structures to support new installations.
  • Mechanical
Replacement and installation of three 250kW, 3.3kV Vacuum Pumps, optimising system efficiency and performance.
  • Piping
Design, fabrication, and installation of piping systems to facilitate fluid transport within the plant.
  • EI&C (Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control)
Integration of new control systems, ensuring seamless operation and monitoring of plant processes.
  • SCADA Integration
Implementation of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for centralised monitoring and control.

EXECUTION
The project demanded meticulous planning and execution due to its complexity and the critical nature of the operational environment. Key aspects of project execution included:

  • Staged Approach
A phased strategy was adopted to minimise disruptions to plant operations. This approach allowed for the systematic replacement of equipment while ensuring continuous production.
  • Safety Priority
Safety protocols were paramount throughout the project to safeguard personnel and plant assets. Rigorous safety measures were implemented to mitigate risks associated with working in an industrial environment.
  • Operational Continuity
Our team ensured that plant operations remained unaffected during the execution phase. Close coordination with plant operators and stakeholders enabled seamless integration of new equipment and systems without compromising production schedules.
  • Commissioning
Mechanical and EI&C commissioning activities were meticulously carried out to verify the functionality and performance of the newly installed components. Comprehensive testing and quality assurance measures were implemented to guarantee optimal operation.

PROJECT DURATION
The project spanned over 6 months from October 2023 to March 2024.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
Constructing within an operational plant posed significant challenges, demanding meticulous planning to keep the plant online and construction safe. Detailed scheduling ensured minimal disruptions, with tasks carefully phased to align with production schedules. Collaboration with plant operators facilitated seamless operation, while rigorous safety measures mitigated risks. Through precise planning and execution, we navigated the complexities of the project within an operational environment, achieving our objectives efficiently and safely.
